Whelan Wins At Mondello: Local Adamstown A1 Cyclist Brendan Whelan outsprinted his breakaway companions to take his first Open Race Win of the season in Mondello Park on Tuesday night (May 15th). The A1/A2/A3/A4 Handicapped event all came together at the halfway point, but constant attacking from the A1 riders saw the main bunch stretched over the course. |

Ryan Stays Top After Dramatic Comeback: Under 12 Cyclist Ryan Whelan kept his position on top of the Orwell Youth League after a last lap comeback saw him Sprint home in 3rd place. Ryan (Winner Round 1) spent a lap in chase of lone Breakaway Eoin Birchall, however he faded in the strong wind and was distanced on his own in sixth place with only half a lap remaining. |

Whelan 5th In Corkagh Park: Adamstown Cyclist Brendan Whelan (Cycling Pursuits) came home with 5th Prize from the SDCC Grand Prix A1/A2 Race in Corkagh Park on Saturday (May 12th). Whelan and Gary Gorman (Stamullen) had spent a lot of the race in chase of the leading Breakaway (Including Winner Robin Kelly Waterford), and both riders sprinted home for the remaining prizes after being caught by the chasing group on the final lap. |

Roisin 2nd In Corkagh Park: Roisin Kennedy moved herself up into the top four places overall after Round 5 of the Wheelworx Criterium League at Corkagh Park on Saturday (May 12th). Roisin came home with 2nd prize on the day, after she had launched a late attack in chase of Anne Dalton (Orwell) in the closing laps but was unable to reel her in before the finish. |
