More Lucan Riders Accredited   Lucan Cycling Road Club followed up early  Octobers successful Introduction To Track Cycling Day with another Club Day on the Track on Saturday (Oct 31st).

The Club were put through a hard Track training session (approx 35 Miles) with repeated Sprint efforts, Mock Races and combined Group skills, mixed with speed Sessions behind Track Coach Stephen Gibbons on the Derny.

Most of Lucans Youth National and Provincial medal winning team were present (Kayleigh Gibbons taking a rest day before her Holland Trip) -

Under 16s Darragh Zaidan and Ross Grogan trained with the Seniors in preparation for the jump up to the Junior Ranks in 2010. 

The soon to be Junior riders had no problems mixing it with the seniors , and they showed some of Lucans newly converted Track riders just why they are considered two of the best young Track Riders in Ireland.

LCRCs Ronan Baxter was making his first visit to the Track - and Baxter couldnt wait to finish his Track Accreditation (Thanks To Track Coach Hugh Byrne) and join his Team Mates Training Session.

Terry and Anne McGrane were back for their 2nd Track Session - and Ian O'Hara is already talking of competing on the Track in 2010.

Sandra Fitzgerald and Enda Connolly will also compete on the track for Lucan in 2010. Connolly was the strongest on the day - putting in the lions share of the work and attacking in his groups.

National Track Medalists Roisin Kennedy and Brendan Whelan were also present - and the Club will include regular sessions at Sundrive over the Winter Months.

Track Bikes are provided for all that needed them - and Track Coach Stephen Gibbons helps our riders with a varied program of events, and three hours of track time (Including Derny Training from Our qualified Derny Rider).

New members are put through their Accreditation - allowing them to train and Race at Sundrive Track next Season.
