Roisin (Chairperson of ESBCC) addresed the invited guests that included ESBs Chief executive Padraig McManus and Cycling Irelands CEO Geoff Liffey. The packed out event also included LCRCs Track Coach Stephen Gibbons and LCRC Rider Brendan Whelan - (both members will be helping Roisin with events for the new club in the coming months). The Launch was a major success, and the new Chairperson gave a brief speech before handing over to guest speaker Padraig McManus (ESB Chief Executive). Roisin has been working hard on this new venture - and the new club hit the ground running with a Full Committee, Club Clothing and Cycling Ireland Registration already in place LAUNCH OF ESB CYCLING CLUB The new ESB Cycling Club was launched by Chief Executive, Padraig McManus at an event in the Conference Centre. The launch attracted a fantastic turn-out with almost one hundred people attending. Padraig Manus said he was delighted to be able to launch the club and as a cyclist fully supported its formation and looked forward to seeing the Club develop and prosper over the coming years. Roisin Kennedy and Jonathan Sandham from the Cycling Club spoke about membership, gear (some of which was on display) and the plans for the Club. All of the information relating to the Club will shortly be available on the staff intranet. Damien O’Tuama and Ciaran Fallon (both external speakers) complimented ESB on this initiative and wished the Club best wishes for the years ahead. |
