Roisin Wins Stage 1 Time Trial: Over 35 women lined up for Stage 1 of the Orwell Wheelers hosted Womens Criterium League at Glencullen on Tuesday night (April 13th) but it was ACRCs Roisin Kennedy who was fastest on the night, four seconds ahead of Joanna Hickey (IRC) in 2nd spot, and thirty three seconds ahead of Heather Boyle (Ravens) in 3rd - full results added.
Kennedy thanked Orwell Wheelers, especially Aideen Collard for putting on a great Women Only Event, and she is looking forward to some great racing in the coming weeks of the League. Click Here For official report From Irish Cycling Round one was a tough straight five kilometre rolling / draggy time trial starting at Johnny Fox’s Pub in Glencullen, Co Dublin, along the Pine Forest road. The time trial will be followed by five criterium rounds (approximately 20-30 minutes long) on a flat 800m circuit in Sandyford Industrial Estate on Tuesdays 20th April, 27th April, 4th May, 11th May and 18th May 2010. Sign-on also starts at 6.30pm with the start scheduled for 7pm. The races are open to female riders of all fitness and ability levels including beginners, youths and juniors. With expert advice on hand, the League is aimed at those interested in getting into racing for the first time and will be great for improving fitness, cornering and bunch skills. |
