Adamstown Riders On Top Form On Track: LCRC riders put in a great performance in the first big Track race of 2010, at the Duane Delaney Memorial at Sundrive Road on Saturday (June 12th). At the end of a long day of racing LCRCs Enda Connolly (Leinster Track Team) Won the A Section with Brendan Whelan in 2nd, Kevin whelan Won the C Event and finished 2nd Overall in All competitions, and Brendan Whelan also came away with a New National Record On The Track. It was a dominating display by Lucan and Leinster riders against a top field , including a strong Cycling Ulster Team.

The race was hosted by Ravens CRT , and is growing in stature every year - attracting some of Irelands best Track riders.

Kevin Whelan got the show on the road for Lucan by winning his first event the 200M TT -

Brendan Whelan followed this up by setting a New National Record to win the A Race - with Enda Connolly (representing Leinster) in 2nd place - setting a PB for the event.

Darragh Zaidan and Ross Grogan were also performing well in the A races - both Juniors were regularly placed ahead of their Junior opposition. Zaidan coming home in 4th place in the Scratch race. 

Sandra Fitzgerald and Enda Connolly were also riding the race to gain selection for upcoming National Development Team events in the UK.  Connolly was impressive winning the A Events - showing a considerable improvement in his Sprinting and Times. Fitzgerald also rode well in the competitive C Races - Including a lone ride ahead of the bunch picking up points in the Points race.

Both Whelan Brothers Won 3 of their Five events - Leaving Kevin Whelan 2nd Overall, just ahead of Connolly in 3rd.

Lucan Track Coach Stephen Gibbons managed a strong Leinster Team in the event - Gibbons was delighted with Connollys A Section Win, after a good Team performance from his riders. (Darren O'Toole / Enda Ryan / Jason Howick / Enda Connolly).
