Whelan Is Leinster Track Champion Adamstown Track riders contested the Leinster Track Championships at Sundrive Road on Saturday (Sept 11th) , and came away with a record haul of Medals - Including two New Leinster Champions.
Adamstown have two new Leinster Champions , Ryan Whelan in the Under 10 TT, and Brendan Whelan took the Leinster 500m title with a time only a hundred of a second outside the national record. Click Here For Official Report: The Whelan brothers finished 6th and 9th in the Elite Mens TT, with Ian O'Hara in 7th place, and Lucan girls Fitzgerald and Kennedy came home 6th and 7th in the Womens event Brendan Whelan finished off the TTs with a Gold in the Veterans event, Derek Stenson was the last off, after an earlier false start, and the ever improving Lucan Veteran came home with a Bronze Medal . Ryan Whelan got the Scratch races started with another Silver, before National Scratch Race Champion Adam Stenson launched his trademark late dash for the line to add the Leinster Title to his impressive seasons trophy haul. Kennedy and Fitzgerald battled hard in the womens Scratch race - Roisin looked to be very strong, but found herself outnumbered 3 to 1 in the final shake up, having to settle for fourth place.
