Sandra Wins Again: The Lucan women were in action again in the Wheelworx Womens Criterium League in Sandyford on Tuesday night (May 10th), and after dominating Stage 3 to keep Sandra Fitzgerald in the Leaders Jersey, the LCRC Duo were the ones to watch on Stage 4.

The race went very to plan ,with Roisin Kennedy (Adamstown) doing the bulk of the work on the front to bring back the handicap group in the opening laps, and Sandra sitting comfortably a few riders back.

As opposed to Stage 3, where the race was broken up early, most opposition riders were content to sit behind Roisin and save themselves for Sandras Sprint.

Ciara Kinch (Orwell) launched two attacks in the closing laps, but they were quickly closed down by the remaining riders.
The Lap board went from 7 to 2 Laps after the start of heavy rain on the tight circuit, and Sandra immediately attacked, going nto the last lap with a small gap on her rivals.
Fitzgerald powered over the last climb with Ann Dalton and Orla Hendron (Orwell) close behind.
A Crash on the second last corner left the bunch singled out, and Sandra was able to win comfortably.
Roisin Kennedy lost out on 3rd prize in a close Sprint with Hendron (Orwell),
Sandra retains the Leaders Jersey with two events remaining, and both riders will have to be on top form to ensure the League Win for Lucan.
Earlier on the night, Patricia Daly was in action for Lucan in the support B Race,
Patricia was riding her first event for LCRC, and she performed very well, battling out to a high overall position,
We hope to see Patricia back in Lucan Colours for the remaining two events
A big thank you to Aideen Collard , Dave McLoughlin and their Team (Orwell Wheelers) for hosting a very well run event for both riders and spectators.
