Ben Wins / Ryan 2nd In Dundrum: Under 10 Cyclist Ben Whelan took his first Ever Win last night (June 20) in front of a big crowd and celebrity guests in the Stephen Roche Grand Prix. Ben competed in the Under 10 / Novice race , and the young rider was delighted to get to meet Spanish Cycling Legend and 1988 Tour De France Winner Pedro Delgado, along with current Irish Superstar Nicolas Roche after the event. 
Ryan Whelan was in action in the Under 12 Race, Ryan got into the leading break of four riders, and narrowly lost out on the Win in the Sprint to the line, taking an excellent 2nd Prize.
Ryan with Spanish TDF Winner Pedro Delgado The Under 12 event was hotly contested with riders from all over the country competing . The main field stayed together for the first lap, and four riders went clear on lap 2. Ryan narrowly lost out in the dash for the line, but was happy to take a prize in such a big event. Under 12 1st, Jack McCarthy, Fermoy; 2nd, Ryan Whelan, Cycling Pursuits 3rd, Cian May, Lucan. -
Under 10/Novices 1st, Ben Whelan, Cycling Pursuits; 2nd, Nathaniel Kaye-Mellor, Orwell; 3rd, Max Latham, Orwell.
