Roisin Narrowly Loses 09 Boot Inn League:

Sandra Fitzgerald made it two wins in a row in the Womens Boot Inn League on a night of mixed emotions for Adamstown CRC,  Fitzgerald went into the Stage with her team mate Roisin Kennedy leading the overall GC,

Sandra worked hard at the front of the race for her club - however with only one lap remaining it was apparent that Kennedy and the  scratch riders would not catch the handicapped group ahead.

With only two groups on the road on the final stage - a handicap of 7 mins (Normally reserved for Limit Riders) was given to the second group.

There was no chance of the four Scratch riders getting back on terms - and Fitzgerald rescued the night for LCRC - Winning the stage, Sprinting clear of the Semi Scratch/Limit riders approaching the finish.

Roisin Kennedy was delighted with Sandras result - Kennedy has an unmatched record in the event - She has won the league in 2004, 2005 and 2007 - finishing 2nd in 2006 and 3rd in 2008.

Fitzgerald has already shown she has the winning mentality - and the Lucan cyclist is improving every week approaching the Womens National Road Race championships.

Lucan placed two riders in the Final Top 4 Overall -  Roisin dropped from 1st to 3rd Overall on the night - and Sandra moved up to 4th on the back of her two Wins.
